We are always delighted to welcome new volunteers. We meet on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in Little Walsingham at the North Norfolk Riding Centre.
You can help on one or both mornings each week and there are many roles where you can add value e.g. mounting assistants, horse leaders, side walkers, equipment movers, first aid, safeguarding and more.
No experience necessary as full training is given and subsidised national courses are frequently available. – but liking people and horses will help! Some of the riders are nervous to start but, with patience and time, many go on to ride horses with confidence. We have a dedicated website full of resources for volunteers (myrda.org.uk).
Overall, it’s a highly rewarding experience for both riders and Volunteers alike! We work closely as a team, and are continually learning new and better ways of helping our disabled riders to get the most out of their sessions, build their confidence – and have fun too! VOlunteers working with our riders must provide personal details and references - please see application form below.
We also often need volunteers to help with fundraising, cake baking, craft making for fundraising events, developing marketing materials and other administrative tasks.
